Central Sector Scholarship Scheme 2018 - The Central Board of Secondary Education Invites Renewal Application Forms from the eligible applicants who have been granted scholarship under Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for the year 2018
Scholarship Scheme 2018
  • An official notification has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), calling out for students to make use of the Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for College and University Students (CSSS)
  • For all the professional courses, the scholarship will be renewed till the graduation level of that course and for all the other courses, the scholarship will be renewed up to maximum of five years of that stream.
About CBSE CSSS
  • The Ministry of Human Resources Development, Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of India had introduced "Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students" in 11 five-year plans while discontinuing all the earlier scholarship schemes
Objective
  • The Objective of CSSS is to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from low-income families to meet day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies
Scope
  • Central Sector Scholarship Scheme will be awarded on the basis of the results of senior secondary exams; 82000 fresh scholarships per annum (41000 for boys and 41000 for girls) will be awarded for graduate/post graduate studies in colleges and universities and for professional courses, such as Medical, Engineering etc.

Eligibility Criteria for Central Sector Scholarship 2018

  • Students who are above 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream from the respective Board of Exam in Class XII of 10+2 pattern or equivalent and pursuing regular courses (not correspondence or distance mode) in Colleges/Institutions recognized by AICTE, UGC Act, 1956, MCI/DCI of India and respective regulatory authorities and not availing benefit of any other scholarship scheme including State run scholarship schemes/Fee waiver and reimbursement scheme are eligible under the scheme
  • Students pursuing Diploma courses are not eligible under the scheme
Scholarships Amount
  • The rate of scholarship is Rs.10000/- per annum at Graduation level for first three years of College and University courses and Rs.20000/- per annum at Post-Graduation level. Students pursuing professional courses, in case, where the duration of course is five (5) years/Integrated course would get Rs.20000/- per annum in the 4th and 5th year. However, students pursuing technical courses such as B.Tech., B.Eng. would get scholarship up to graduation level
Parental Income Ceiling
  • The parental/family income ceiling is Rs. 8 lakh per annum for all categories under the scheme and would be applicable from the Academic Session 2018-19
  • Income certificate would be required for the fresh applicants only
Duration of Scholarships & Its Renewal
  • A student will be eligible for the scholarship for a total duration not exceeding 5 years
  • A scholarship under the scheme is renewable on year to year basis up to PG Level in the same stream (except for the students pursuing technical courses leading to degree at graduation level)

Central Sector Scholarship Application Procedure 2018

  • Go through the guidelines before filling up online application form for scholarship. The Aspiring applicants satisfying the eligibility criteria in all respect may submit their application form only through online mode
  • National Scholarship Portal (NSP) must apply online in the National Scholarship Portal www.scholarships.gov.in for the renewal scholarships
  • The Online registration of applications will be made available on National e-Scholarship Portal "scholarships.gov.in" or NSP Andriod App on or before 31st October 2018
For students of Academic Year 2008-09 to 2014-15 (up to 3rd renewal)
  • Students who have passed Class XII in the Academic Year 2008-09 to 2014-15 (up to 3rd renewal) are required to obtain the renewal application blank form from the respective State Education Boards & Submit the same duly certified from their respective institutions which is required to certify:
  • that the student has secured 60% or more marks in the previous exam,
  • that the student has 75% attendance and
  • that the student is not involved in any ragging activities
For students of Academic Year 2014-15 (4th renewal) (Offline)
  • Students who have passed Class XII and have received fresh/renewal scholarship through the State Education Board concerned, are required to obtain the renewal application blank form from the respective State Education Boards and submit the same duly certified from their respective institutions which is required to certify:
  • that the student has secured 50 % or more marks in the previous exam
  • that the student has 75 % attendance and
  • that the student is not involved in any ragging activities

The Jammu & Kashmir State Board of School Education JKBOSE Scholarship notification for College and University Students of  J&K. Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students- Inviting applications for Fresh 2018 Batch on National Scholarship Portal-regd. In continuation to this office notification No:F (Acad-C-Sch)CSSS, Dated: 03-08-2018, it is notified for the information of all the concerned students who have passed their Higher Secondary Examination, Part-ll (Class 12th) Session Annual, Regular, 2017, Kashmir Division/ Winter Zone of Jammu Division including Leh and Kargil districts and Annual Regular 2018 in case of Summer Zone areas of Jammu Division, falling within Top 20 percentile, aspiring to avail the benefits of Centre Sector Scholarship Scheme (CSSS) of Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, (MHRD), New Delhi are required to prefix the below mentioned code before their Roll No in which the candidate falls and select 2018 as year of passing, while filling up online application form on National Scholarship Portal (www.scholarships.gov.in), the last date of which is 31st Oct 2018.
 To apply for the said scholarship scheme on National Scholarship Portal, 
select “Department of Higher Education” and 
then select “Centre Sector Scholarship Scheme (CSSS)”

 The quantum of Scholarship is Rs. 10,000/- per year for undergraduate courses i.e. Rs. 30,000 for three years and Rs. 20,000/- per year during post graduate courses. The Top 20 percentile along with important instructions to fill application form online is available on JKBOSE website: www.jkbose.jk.gov.in. Advertisement On successful completion of the application, it would be available for online validation to the university /college /institution in which the student is studying at graduate level.
